Ink, Marker, Pencil
I used Yupo paper (polypropylene) for this series. I start with a 9x12 sheet. I drip alcohol ink randomly, and start swiping with a paper towel, creating sweeping effects. After the first layer dries, I cut them into 4 pieces. On a smaller scale, I feel like I can dive into each one as if it is an independent, mystical, little world. I look for shapes that are organic, botanical, and even animal-like, and I emphasize them with marker and graphite pencil. Even though they start out as a group, each one takes on a life of its own.
Art is mounted to a cradled wood panel.
May be hung or be displayed free standing.
